How
are you related to EFC Irvine?
We are an integral part of EFC Irvine. However, our ministry focuses on
individual and ethnic diversity within our predominant Asian American
(AA) membership. On top of that we believe in a
full integration of our cultural identity into our
ministry.
How
are you different from other Asian American Ministries?
Not a whole lot except that we embrace our Asian roots and highlight
our AA heritage, which is the foundation of our identity, out of which
we express our service to the community at
large.
Is
this a youth ministry?
Oh…No! Perhaps this ministry started out as a youth
ministry. However over time, we realize the tremendous need to focus
our attention on the family. WE believe family ministry is
foundational to the development of the individual from childhood to
adulthood. Hence, our ministry is not a
ministry “just for the kids.”
My
English is poor, can I help?
Certainly, our Ministry is about people. Language is only one of many
tools we use to reach the people of God. The language of love and
acceptance speak louder than any words that
can be uttered from our mouths and remember a smile goes a long way.
Just think, if every missionary has to speak
the native tongue in a foreign land with flawless perfection for viable
ministry to take place, would there
still be missions in our world today?
How
does a teenager grow in the EFCI EM?
First of all, they could get involved in the fellowship of their peers.
By participating, they will witness spiritual maturity modeled by our
seasoned advisors. This growth can be
challenging and will take time. That is why the family support is
essential during the development of these
youngsters. After demonstrating spiritual maturity, they will be
challenged to serve in many capacities.
